• Begin at the NW corner of Township 137 Range 90 (T137-R90)
• Go E on the N line of Twp 137 Ranges 90, 89 & 88 to the NE corner of T137-R88.
• Go S on the E line of T137-R88 to its SE corner
• Go E on the S line of Twp 137 Ranges 87, 86, 85 & 84 to the NE corner of T136-R85
• Go S on the E line of Twps 136, 135 & 134 Range 85 to the SE corner of T134-R85
• Go E on the S line of Twp 134 Ranges 84 & 83 to the NE corner of T133-R83
• Go S on the E line of T133-R83 to its SE corner
• Go E on the S line of T133-R82 to the Cannon Ball River which forms the N boundary of Sioux County
• Go W on the N boundary of Sioux Co. (i.e. the Cannon Ball & its South Fork, aka Cedar Creek) to the W line of T130-R90
• Go N on the W line of Twps 130, 131 & 132 Range 90 to the S line of T133-R90
• Go W on the S line of T133-R90 to its SW corner
• Go N on the W line of Twps 133, 134, 135 & 136 Range 90 to the S line of T137-R90

I, Lee Nichols, County Auditor of the County of Morton, State of North Dakota, hereby certify that at the General Electoin held on the 7th day of November 1916 that the question of the formation of the new County of Grant out of part of Morton County described as follows;

Beginning at the Northwest corner of Township 137 Range 90, thence East on the North line of Township 137 Range 90, 137 Range 89, and 137 Range 88, to the Northeast corner of said Township 137 Range 88, thence South on the East line of the said last named Township to the Southeast corner thereof, thence East on the South line of Townships 137 Range 87, 137 Range 86, 137 Range 85 and 137 Range 84 to the Northeast corner of Township 136 Range 85, thence South on the East line of Townships 136 Range 85, 135 Range 85 and 134 Range 85 to the Southeast corner of Township 134 range 85, thence East on the South line of Townships 134 range 84, 134 Range 83 to the Northeast corner of Township 133 Range 83, thence South on the East line of the last named Township to the Southeast corner thereof, thence East on the South line of Township 133 range 82 to the point where said line intersects the center of the main channel of the Cannon Ball River, said point being the point where said township line intersects the northerly boundary of Sioux County, thence Westerly on the northerly boundary of Sioux County, and along the center of the Main Channel of the Cannon Ball river and South Fork thereof, also known as the Cedar Creek, to the point where the same intersects the west line of Township 130 Range 90, 131 range 90 and 132 range 90 to the South line of Township 133 range 90, thence West along the last mentioned line to the Southwest corner of said Township, thence North on the West line of Townships 133 range 90, 134 range 90, 135 range 90 and 136 range 90 to the South line of Township 137 range 90, thence West along the last mentioned line to the Southwest corner of said Township, thence North on the West line thereof to the point of beginning, was submitted to the vote of the people of said County of Morton and that the vote cast on the proposition of creating the new County of Grant out of the territory above described was as follows; For New County 3136, Against New County 1718.
